When you ask most 18 year old’s what they think University life will be like, they usually imagine something like this :
And don’t get me wrong, University is an amazing experience, or at least it has been for me, but as someone that is guilty of idealizing everything, here is a list of 8 things that I would have liked to consider before starting university.
- You will most likely not learn anything that is actually going to be crucial for your future job.
- If you are expecting the University Experience to be like the movies, I would advise you to put your hopes down a bit. Because even if this curated experience may happen for you, idealizing it may end up being the cause of you being deceived of the experience you are living.
- If you don’t know what you want to do in the future, going straight to uni may not me the best idea. Traveling the world for a year instead may be your best choice.
